Do you love books as much as we do? Join the Friends of the Haverford Township Free Library for a special fundraiser. Our Peek-a-Book mini photo sessions are for bibliophiles young and old. Document your child’s all-time favorite book or newest obsession. Grab a social media headshot for yourself that shows your personality. The session is free and you only pay for the images you love. Print packages are perfect for holiday gifts. 50% of the profits will go directly back to the Friends of the Haverford Township Free Library, to support library programs and services. The portrait sessions will take place from 10:30 AM to 3:00 PM on December 7th, 2019.
PEEK-A-BOOK PORTRAIT SESSIONS
Peek-a-Book Portrait Sessions
Do I need to sign up in advance?
Sign-up is optional, but encouraged. We will leave a few spots at the end of each 1/2 hour for first-come, first-serve walk-ins. We recommend you come at least 15 minutes before your time slot, even if you book in advance. Booking information can be found on the event page on Facebook.
What if I have more than one child?
Each person needs their own 5 minute slot, but there are options to book for 1-4 people at once. If you have more than four people in your family that want to have their portrait taken, book a four person spot and then reach out to us by email at firstname.lastname@example.org or through my Contact page.
How long will the sessions last?
Each slot will be 5 minutes and should take between 2-5 minutes. To keep things moving smoothly, these sessions are intended for one adult or child at a time.
What if my child can't sit unassisted?
For young toddlers or babies, we can take a photo of you holding the child and reading to them instead of peeking out over the book.
Is this only for children?
Not at all! These sessions are for anyone who loves to read and wants to support their local library. In our humble opinion, these would make fun profile pics for social media. You're welcome to choose a book that was a childhood favorite or something you've fallen in love with as an adult.
How much does this cost?
Your Peek-a-Book session is free. After the session, you can order digital files or print packages through an online gallery, similar to school photo packages. The average package cost is $30 and a sheet with all options will be available at the session. Any purchase will benefit the library!
Can I bring my own book?
We encourage you to bring your favorite book with you, whether an old classic or a new obsession. Document your love for "Blueberries for Sal" or "War and Peace". We will also have a selection of books in the conference room, or you can borrow one from the library's shelves. Tip - A book with a matte cover vs high-gloss will photograph better.
What if my child won't "peek" over their book?
Not a problem. Not every kid is going to perform in a small window of time. We can photograph them with the book on their head, or just holding the book. We cannot guarantee that every child will "peek" over their book, but they are sure to be cute either way!
